Shalford, St Mary the Virgin

Only one ringer has so far been identified from St Mary the Virgin, Shalford.

  • Private/Gunner Ernest George Worsfold — 35th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force; ?Canadian Grenadier Guards?; 18th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery. [Originally from Shalford, he had been in Canada 8 years before 1915, based at Bramshott Camp. The report in The Ringing World states he was with the Candian Grenadiers, but nothing in his service record indicates that this was actually the case.]

Information on the bells and ringers today can be found on the Guildford Diocesan Guild website.
