Kennington, St John the Divine

One ringer from St John the Divine Kennington is known to have served, Petty Officer H J Walton RNRS (probably Royal Naval Air Service) was recorded as having rung a quarter peal of Stedman Triples on 26 March 1916. At The National Archives there is a record for a Harold James Walton with an official number indicating RNAS service, and a birthplace of Kennington.

The church was damaged by enemy action in the Second World War, and although not explicitly mentioned on the church website it seems the bells may have been lost at that time.
